Keep It Simple And Make It Your Own

This time of year is a reminder of why you should keep your life as simple as possible.  When it comes to cooking, some of my favorite recipes just have four or five ingredients. I'm always looking for shortcuts on time but not on flavor. One way to accomplish this is to try just using one pan, for example when cooking pasta you can cook the cauliflower in with the pasta water. I have to admit I'm not a big cauliflower fan but I have done this with italian sausage and adds a nice layer of flavor.  For a final kick add a little bit of crushed red pepper or what ever flavor you like to make it your own.
